Begin your day with a walking tour of the famous Nanjing Road, a must-see destination attracting thousands of fashion-seeking shoppers from all over the world. Continue to the City God Temple Bazaar, built during the Yongle Reign of Ming Dynasty. Explore the famous waterfront Bund, a mile long stretch along the Huangpu River. After lunch, visit the world famous Shanghai Museum (No audio service).

Travel to Mt. Huangshan by high speed rail. Upon arrival board a coach to the ancient village of Hongcun*, explore narrow cobblestone paved lanes winding around charming whitewashed buildings with pointed black tiled roofs, much of the architecture dates back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. Depart Wuhan for Maoping, the site where your ship is docked and awaiting your arrival. Arrive at Yichang, the economic hub of China’s Hubei province, to begin your Yangtze River cruise. Embark on your 5-star Victoria Cruises ship, and settle into your comfortable cabin. Set sail in the evening for an exciting Yangtze River adventure. At nearly 4000 miles long, the mighty Yangtze River is the world’s third longest river and flows eastward into the East China Sea.

Spend the morning viewing the construction of the Three Gorges Dam, the largest in the world. Later sail through Xiling Gorge, the longest (41 miles), and the deepest of the Three Gorges.

Today's shore excursion will involve a tour along either the Shennong Stream or Goddess Stream to explore the Small Gorges. Board smaller vessels to access this tributary of the Yangtze. Return to the ship where you can relax and enjoy the spectacular sights, as the vessel passes through the narrow meandering passages of the Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge.

Today, our shore excursion will take you to the Xiaoguanshan Ancient Folk Culture Park and Mt. Shuanggui near Fengdu. The Xiaoguanshan Ancient Folk Culture Park is a noted site for the relocation and reconstruction of architectural relics after the water rose on the Yangtze as a result of the Three Gorges Dam Project. Mt. Shuanggui is a national forest park known for its picturesque scenery, which integrates history, culture and modern art. Depending on the river conditions, an alternate excursion may be substituted to Shibaozhai, a famous 12-story tall wooden pagoda. Descend the mountain and return back to our cruise ship as it continues on its journey along the Yangtze River.

Your Yangtze River Cruise comes to an end upon arrival at Chongqing. Disembark the cruise, a brief city tour takes you to the Chongqing Zoo* to see adorable panda bears. For lunch enjoy a local spicy hot pot cuisine. Later, depart for Beijing by air and upon arrival transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy as you choose.
