Head toward Mt. Huangshan, take a cable car ride up to the midway point of Mt. Huangshan, famed for its picturesque landscape, which ranks among the most beautiful in China. Visit the world heritage site Hongcun and Jingdezhen, a 1700-year-old capital of the porcelain making industry. Take a cruise down the majestic Yangtze River and marvel at the inspiring Three Gorges.

Depart the U.S. bound for Shanghai.
Upon arrival in Shanghai, transfer to your luxury hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
Begin your day with a walking tour of the famous Nanjing Road, a must-see destination attracting thousands of fashion-seeking shoppers from all over the world. Continue to the City God Temple Bazaar, built during the Yongle Reign of Ming Dynasty. Explore the famous waterfront Bund, a mile long stretch along the Huangpu River. After lunch, visit the world famous Shanghai Museum (No audio service).

Travel to Mt. Huangshan by high speed rail. Upon arrival board a coach to the ancient village of Hongcun*, explore narrow cobblestone paved lanes winding around charming whitewashed buildings with pointed black tiled roofs, much of the architecture dates back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. Overnight at Hongcun.

Depart Hongcun in the early morning for Huangshan. Upon arrival, a cable car ride* will take you up to the midway of Mt. Huangshan for a sightseeing tour. Mt. Huangshan* is extolled for its “Four Ultimate Beauties” - unusual rock formations, pine trees, the sea of clouds and hot springs.

Known in China as “The Number One Mountain under Heaven”, Mt. Huangshan was recognized by UNESCO as an official World Cultural Heritage Site in 1990. This morning rises early to view a captivating sunrise amidst a sea of clouds in the summits. Then continue with a sightseeing tour of Huangshan before descending the mountain and returning to Tunxi later in the afternoon. Later enjoy a tour of Tunxi Ancient Street. For dinner, enjoy a mouthwatering local dinner.

To top off your tour of Huangshan, visit the China Huizhou Culture Museum*. Afterward depart for Jingdezhen, the 1700-year-old capital of the porcelain making industry in China, via the picturesque Wuyuan village. This evening enjoys dinner at a Jiangxi local cuisine restaurant.

Today's city tour of Jingdezhen features visits to the Porcelain Museum* and Ceramic Factory*. Continue to Wuhan by high-speed rail. Upon arrival at Wuhan, explore the popular Yellow Crane Tower* and the famous Bells Museum*. Tonight, enjoy a mouthwatering seafood dinner.

Depart Wuhan for Maoping, the site where your ship is docked and awaiting your arrival. Arrive at Yichang, the economic hub of China’s Hubei province, to begin your Yangtze River cruise. Embark on your 5-star Victoria Cruises ship, and settle into your comfortable cabin. Set sail in the evening for an exciting Yangtze River adventure. At nearly 4000 miles long, the mighty Yangtze River is the world’s third longest river and flows eastward into the East China Sea.

Spend the morning viewing the construction of the Three Gorges Dam, the largest in the world. Later sail through Xiling Gorge, the longest (41 miles), and the deepest of the Three Gorges.

Today's shore excursion will involve a tour along either the Shennong Stream or Goddess Stream to explore the Small Gorges. Board smaller vessels to access this tributary of the Yangtze. Return to the ship where you can relax and enjoy the spectacular sights, as the vessel passes through the narrow meandering passages of the Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge.

Today, our shore excursion will take you to the Xiaoguanshan Ancient Folk Culture Park and Mt. Shuanggui near Fengdu. The Xiaoguanshan Ancient Folk Culture Park is a noted site for the relocation and reconstruction of architectural relics after the water rose on the Yangtze as a result of the Three Gorges Dam Project. Mt. Shuanggui is a national forest park known for its picturesque scenery, which integrates history, culture and modern art. Depending on the river conditions, an alternate excursion may be substituted to Shibaozhai, a famous 12-story tall wooden pagoda. Descend the mountain and return back to our cruise ship as it continues on its journey along the Yangtze River.

Your Yangtze River Cruise comes to an end upon arrival at Chongqing. Disembark the cruise, a brief city tour takes you to the Chongqing Zoo* to see adorable panda bears. For lunch enjoy a local spicy hot pot cuisine.

Our tour guide, James Lu, did a fantastic services for us. He upgraded us to the VIP restaurant at the cruise for free. Very informative and great patience. Will do Peony tours again because him. Prefer can stay in Chongqing a night after disembarking from cruise instead of staying Beijing for a night.The cruise was late on schedule to Chongqing and had to catch the flight to Beijing around early afternoon. Not enough time to zoo and lunch in Chongqing.Food and hotel are good. Just the domestic flights were delayed.

Our tour guide, James, was excellent! He was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. During the trip, I sprained my ankle, and James was very helpful in making sure I was okay and was able to finish the tour. He was very considerate. Overall, we were very satisfied.
